java - What are the uses of JDK inside the oracle database client installed location? -


i observed today there jdk inside oracle database client/server installed location in linux box.

i know jre used in using netca(gui) other assistive gui tools, can explain uses of jre this?

i not trying remove or overwrite jdk don`t seem find explanation anywhere lower version jdk current released @ time of release particular oracle database client.

the full client includes old version of sql developer, requires jdk.

the 11gr1 client includes sql developer 1.1.3 , jdk 1.5.0_11; 11gr2 server (and far know standalone client) includes sql developer 1.5.4 , jdk 1.5.0_30. @ least on linux. oracle 12c includes sql devloper 3.2 believe, presumably includes jdk 6.

they supply old version of sql developer, supply matching, compatible version of jdk, if java had moved on since version of sql developer.

the current version, sql developer 4.1, requires jdk 8.

there may other uses older jdk other tools, that's obvious one.

firefox - Where is 'webgl.osmesalib' parameter? -

i'm trying webgl running on firefox (v37.0.2) via software acceleration mesa. tried following steps have been stated in article: http://www.binarytides.com/enable-webgl-firefox-ubuntu/ however, unable find parameter named ' webgl.osmesalib ' in about:config section? has been removed (or renamed)? if yes, how should instruct firefox use mesa's software acceleration webgl? looks support osmesa removed in favour llvmpipe.
