java - Is Resource Adapter Archive (RAR) the same as Roshal ARchive (RAR)? -


are both referring same thing? related @ all?

so i'm confused on point. oracle using proprietary format or similarity in extension naming?

eugene roshal's rar proprietary archive has nothing common zip format. has many (discussable) advantages on zip , used on windows winrar executable. winrar archiver can read zip files. that's confusion comes from. winrar reads formats - use read both rars , successful. no zip archiver read winrar format.
